Friedrichstress, Berlin :: An excursion II

Established in 1748, Invalidenfriedhof Cemetery provided itself as a burial ground for war soldiers and distinguished Purssian military personnel. During Nazi regime, some senior figures were buried at the cemetery. After WW II was gone donzo, Allies demanded that the graves of the old regime to be removed. Ahtough remains of the Nazi members were undisturbed, their grave stones were doffed off.
Withe the division of Berlin in 1961, part of the cemetery became part of East Berlin. It was only German freedom fighters that prevented its total destruction. After the reunification in 1990, the cemetery was put under protection program for restoration, and now serves itself as a bearer of a memorial of those who were killed, trying to cross the Berlin Wall via cemetery.

Now... sit back. Relax. Enjoy.

Yes, it is my bike playing dead.
